Parents of the Year

"Parents' Day" Announcement

Parents are an invaluable gift from nature, playing an integral role in a child's development. National Parents' Day aims to promote responsible parenting and acknowledge the profound parent-child bond. Established by President Bill Clinton in 1994 through Congressional Resolution, the day celebrates and uplifts the role of parents in raising children, as advocated by Republican Senator Trent Lott.

Observed on the fourth Sunday of July each year, National Parents' Day aligns with the earlier celebrations of Mothers' Day and Fathers' Day. It garners participation from citizens, educational institutions, governments, and organizations, fostering activities that honor and support parents in their vital role. The Parents' Day Council orchestrates ceremonies, including the Parents of the Year award, recognizing outstanding examples of positive parenthood at various levels.
